Stepping out for a night on the red carpet, Katherine Heigl was among the early arrivals at the 2010 Country Music Awards on Wednesday (November 10).

The “27 Dresses” actress looked gorgeous as she sauntered down the red carpet at Bridgestone Arena, stopping along the way to share a tender moment with husband Josh Kelley.
 


Set to take the stage during the show for performances are a bevy of big names including Gywneth Paltrow, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, just to name a few.

Meanwhile, the show is once again being co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood - marking the third year-in-a-row the duo have helmed the growingly popular country showcase.

She’s settled into her role as mother to her adorable adopted daughter Naleigh, and Katherine Heigl couldn’t be happier.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” babe appears on the cover of the December issue of W magazine along with her 22-month old girl, and in the accompanying interview, she explains how well everything has worked out.



Katherine shared that her role in “Life as We Know It” was well-timed with her adoption. "I was about to play a woman who inherits a baby, and I was experiencing the exact same thing.”

And so far motherhood has changed Ms. Heigl for the better. "You have this empathy suddenly – this compassion for a mother going through anything complicated or difficult with a child. It's something that I understand now – that unbelievable drive and instinct to protect."

Katherine Heigl (who recently returned to very blonde locks – by the way, makeover or makeunder?) has a little message for you:

Now I use an electronic cigarette. I know it’s ridiculous, but it’s helping me not to actually smoke real cigarettes. You feel like you are smoking, and you get to exhale but it’s just water vapor and not nicotine. I’ve been doing it for six months. Smoking  sucks! The one thing I would say to my kid is, ‘It’s not just that it’s bad for you. Do you want to spend the rest of your life fighting a stupid addiction to a stupid thing that doesn’t even really give you a good buzz?

Here's Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum on the set of her latest movie, 'One For The Money,' the film adaptation of the popular series by Janet Evanovich. I know some people thought Katherine had the wrong look for the part of Stephanie Plum. Do you think she looks the part here?

And this got me to thinking: which look do you like on Katherine best? Here she is as a brunette. Below I have pictures of her with her hair even darker, dark blonde, and light blonde. I think Katherine looks good no matter what, but I have to say, I think being a blonde suits her best.
