Pete Wentz (who buzzed his hair off again) and Ashlee Simpson have the rumor mill churning this afternoon after being spotted together looking pretty cozy and perhaps “back on“. I don’t have rights to the photos, but you can see them here at X-17′s site. They were snapped as they grabbed some coffee together with their son Bronx.

They were holding hands and looking back together to me, but these two are very close, so we could just be misreading it, right? I’m still hopeful! It even looks like Pete has his wedding ring back on!

Despite going through a divorce from Ashlee Simpson, the glass is half full for Pete Wentz.

The “Fall Out Boy” rocker is currently focusing on his new project “Black Cards” - which seems to mainly focus on pop and positivity.

On Wednesday night (March 16), Wentz took the stage for a performance at Austin’s South by Southwest festival and revealed his new attitude to his excited audience.

He said that his new mission is to “broadcast sunshine” and that “sometimes it’s good to have summer all the time. It’s good to be onstage and see people smiling.”

Pete Wentz: I Still Love and Respect Ashlee

Their marriage may be over, but the friendship between Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson is as strong as ever.

When asked how he's holding up since Ashlee filed for divorce a little over a month ago, the "Black Cards" rocker told Ryan Seacrest, "Ashlee's been my best friend for five years. She's the mother of my child, I have nothing but love and respect for her."

Things seem to be going as as well as one could hope for, as Wentz and Simpson have been seen hanging out recently - making two separate fast food runs in L.A. over the weekend.

Continuing his talk with the radio host, Pete once again showed the bond he and Ashlee share, saying, "Going through something like this isn't easy,but we're friends and the most important thing is to put our son first."

Ashlee Simpson may have found her rebound man, but the new fella unfortunately just to happens to be a friend of Pete Wentz, her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Just a month after filing for divorce from the Fall Out Boy bassist, Ashlee has been spotted in L.A. with rocker Craig Owens - shopping and holding on to one another.

Craig is currently signed to Pete's record label, Decaydance, and a source close to the 31-year-old told press,"Pete found Craig, built a band around him and signed him. He's shocked at how this guy is repaying him."

Meanwhile, an insider close to Miss Simpson countered by saying, "Ashlee and Craig are longtime friends. They have spent some time together, and he is comforting her throughout this difficult time."

Who would know better than a sister? Ashlee Simpson was talking about celebrating the holidays with her newly engaged sister and her fiance, Eric Johnson, and she said that Jessica Simpson is at a good stage in her life.

“She is genuinely very, very happy, and you go to their house and it’s warm and cozy, and it’s a good feeling. And he’s just a good guy.”

I LOVE hearing that. I’ve been rooting for Jessica ever since she came onto the scene back in the day. She just seems like such a sweet girl. Ashlee adds that she’s looking forward to the day that Jessica and Eric can give Bronx a playmate!

“Of course it would be wonderful if it happened. We were actually over there yesterday, and Jessica is a wonderful godmother, and aunt, so I know she would be a wonderful mother.”

There’s been so much talk about the timing of Jessica and Eric announcing their engagement right around the time of Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey announcing theirs. I’m sure after they’re both happily married it won’t end there. The next thing will be who’s going to get pregnant first.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz spent some family time shopping in Sherman Oaks, California this afternoon. The couple hit up the local Target store with their son Bronx.

Is anyone else a little surprised to see them at Target? I mean, plenty of celebrities shop at "regular" stores like Target and Walmart, but we just don't see it too often! It also makes me wonder who took these shots? Was it a paparazzi in the store or just a regular customer who sold them to the photo agencies?

They look so happy and content, don't they? I wonder how easy it is to get Bronx to stay in the cart. That's usually that age when they want to stand up and beg to get down!  (imnotobsessed)

Seriously! Not only are we digging her cute but casual summer outfit, but the smile on Ashlee Simpson's face says it all. The singer slash actress was snapped leaving a Reebook event in Hollywood yesterday afternoon, and Bronx's mama was looking mighty fine.

But where has her sister Jessica been hiding out? We haven't seen her since she spent a total of 6 hours at two different doctor's offices in Beverly Hills yesterday, where numerous plastic surgeons have practices. Hmmm!
