Ryan Reynolds is going green, and dishing on his new alter-ego in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly.
Reynolds’ latest flick, The Green Lantern, doesn’t hit theaters ’til 2011, but the 33-year-old actor is already gearing up for his role as test-pilot Hal Jordan, who turns into the green superhero.
Playing the role of Green Lantern involved some major stunts for Ryan, including moving on a wire at 60 ft. per second to create the illusion of flying.
“The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper,” Reynolds, who suffered a minor shoulder injury on set, tells the mag.
Aside from flying high, Ryan was also forced to eat what EW refers to as a “monk-like” diet.
“It’s all part of the job, so I guess I can’t complain. You spend one day a week eating what you want and the other six days eating drywall and wood chips.”
Green Lantern is set to hit theaters June 17, 2011. (celebtv)
